As we drove along the beach way toward our hotel for the night we noticed a lot of young people in full party mode, lots of music and fun happening here!
We arrived at the Marathon Beach Hotel fairly late as we docked at Athens at about 7:30 and had an hour and a half drive to get us here. The GPS lady was fairly cooperative in her directions and did not get us lost! The bar/cafe where we managed to get a parking spot was ‘party central’ and if you love a good party on a Friday night this is the place to be.
We found reception and the lady showed us where to park a little closer to the actual hotel. While my husband repositioned the car I checked in and got all the info needed. The front desk staff were very friendly and efficient, even bringing us to our room. We settled in for the night with a glass of wine on the deck and a snack.
The Marathon Beach Hotel and Resort is a new building complex in the ‘modern rustic’ style with most building s painted a marine white. The room was lovely and well appointed with a generous bath. The bed was exceptional and I had the best night sleep…not too hard, not too soft…just right said mama bear!
The sign says ‘Beware of the turtles’ and we did indeed find turtles!
The next morning breakfast was served buffet style at the pool side restaurant. It was a lovely day and sitting outside on the terrace with a good cup of coffee was the right thing to do. The buffet was a real delight with many various options available.
Recommended for the great service!
A quick pack up and we were started early in order to take in some archeological sites and museums.
