Wow! it was a short but eventful drive from Loutraki to Sunset Beach Hotel in Xiropigado. We stopped to replenish our wine supplies at the beautiful little winery [Ktima Bairaktaris Winery] we found in Nemea and found a rally car convention at the winery. As driving is ‘our thing’ we decided to stop and discuss roads, cars, and other driver experiences.
Wow! Some pretty sweet rides here! We bought our wine, said hello, and then talked to a couple of young Aussies who are making their way to England [for a 2 year job stint] by way of Greece and the Islands…pretty smart young couple I would say.
We discussed driving, places to stay, and best places on the Islands to spend a few weeks. Well, Lesvos and Crete were top of the list for us. Lesvos for the easy drive and great local hotels and food and Crete for all the day trips you can in just by staying in one place for a week [or more]. Just about everything on Crete is a day trip away. Loads of history, ancient sites, good food, and great people are reasons why we love Crete so much!
So, we continued on to Xiropigado [pronounced – shira pig a do]! Lots of great sights along the coast road and some great driving on the interior roads too going into the Peloponnese.
