Oh ok , not a real mermaid! At a restaurant called Mermaid on the Beachfront in Petra, our host explained the most pressing question of Pita Gyros…mustard and ketchup. He calmly explained the differences in the northern local Gyros and the southern [Athens] Gyros. Athens and the south with Tzatziki and the north with mustard and ketchup… My main question was…can I get a ‘classic’ Gyros sandwich with Tzatziki in the north of Greece? Yes he said…we sat down quickly.
Excellent! Awesome! Magnificent! Delicious! The feelings that you experience when you really want a Gyros sandwich and finally get one [that does not have ketchup and mustard] is a classic.
