It is now determined…that my favorite Cambodian food is Amok. It is delicious in it’s numerous forms, fish, seafood, chicken…. A salty, yet slightly sweet, coconut and curry dish (with a hint of lemon grass) that takes advantage of fresh herbs and spices to tantalize your taste buds and keep you wanting to come back for more.
I believe that I ate every form of Amok in every restrauant we visited in Cambodia. It is served befittingly in a banana leaf ‘dish’ that both enhances the presentation and the enjoyment of the flavours. It is served usually with a side of rice that holds the flavors for that extra second or two in your mouth! Need I say more…no.
When in Cambodia run Amok!
My favorite dish!
