The post that never went anywhere! The guff on the group and a few more items!

Met our G Adventures group last night and I must admit I am more than pleasantly enchanted!  The meeting was informative and ...well a meeting! Introductions all around led to some interesting people with interesting stories...and I'm sure it will just get better over the next few weeks. Group dinner was awesome! No, I'm not… Continue reading The post that never went anywhere! The guff on the group and a few more items!

Online…offline..online…off line and so it goes

The internet connections are sporadic at best and getting a strong enough signal for long enough to upload photos is a real special treat! Good internet connection today so I am working like crazy to get the photos sized and uploaded. We are 'taking it easy' at the Hotel this morning after a couple of… Continue reading Online…offline..online…off line and so it goes

Wat, another wat, and another… Bangkok Temples

Today was an incredible day...we visited the many temples (wats) in Bangkok!  Check it out here: http://www.bangkok.com/magazine/10-temples.htm We took a motorcycle taxi  (http://www.bangkok.com/information-travel-around/motorbikes.htm) to the dock to catch the river ferry to the #9 dock to check out the National Museum. As you are by now well aware, we come back to Greece every few years, so, we have 'favorite' places and we also have places that we say "feels-like-home"... well Tsoutsouros is one of those places and Zorba's restaurant is our feels-like-home place to eat when we stay at the Triton Hotel. Tsoutsouros is a… Continue reading Tsoutsouros – Zorba’s & Triton Hotel

From Plakias to Tsoutsouros

This drive was congested for part of the way from Plakias to the turn off that goes toward Heraklion. There were many cars and vans on the roads and the traffic was slow and backed up for many miles. This, of course, does not make my husband happy...when he drives...he likes to drive! But, having… Continue reading From Plakias to Tsoutsouros

Kalypso Cretan Village Resort and Spa

One of our favorite places, and one we return to every time we come to Greece, is the small town of Plakias. It has become a bit more crowded over the past few years and prices are also continuing to rise. Unfortunately, we decided not to stay right in the town this visit. So, we… Continue reading Kalypso Cretan Village Resort and Spa

Ferry from Agia Roumeli to Chora Sfaklion

A beautiful day for a ferry cruise! Our crew from the day before returned to fetch us from our little village at the end of the Samaria gorge. We were sad to leave but ...on to the next adventure. We stopped in a lovely little place called Loutro where the tourists were far more prevalent… Continue reading Ferry from Agia Roumeli to Chora Sfaklion

Gigilos Hotel & Restaurant – Agia Roumeli

At the very bottom of the Samaria Gorge is a quaint little town that straddles the sea shore for about 1000 meters. It is not only small and intimate but very friendly. The ferry docks at the only dock and you drive right up the center of the cobble stone street to the only main… Continue reading Gigilos Hotel & Restaurant – Agia Roumeli

To the Ferry from Paliochora to Agia Roumelli
